Honda Civic Cars
Now into its second generation, the Honda Civic Hybrid offers more premium options but remains technologically unchanged for 2009. The Civic uses gasoline-electric hybrid technology to reach fuel economy ratings of 40/45 mpg city/highway. The Civic Hybrid’s main competition is the Toyota Prius.
New for 2009
The hybrid receives a new front bumper with larger grille openings. On the inside, leather seating surfaces, heated seats and heated mirrors are options. An electronic stability system is now standard.
Exterior
The Civic Hybrid sedan looks as futuristic as the gas-powered models. A-pillars are practically over the front wheels, and the large front doors make it easy to get in and out of the car.
* Redesigned front bumper with more pronounced grille openings
* 15-inch alloy wheels fitted with low-rolling-resistance tires
* Rear lip spoiler
* Hybrid badges and turn-signal indicators in the side mirror housings
Interior
There’s room for five in the Civic Hybrid, which has two-tone cloth seating surfaces with newly optional leather seating surfaces. The Civic Hybrid has an interesting looking instrument cluster that’s similar to the regular Civic’s. It features a digital speedometer positioned near the base of the windshield and a large tachometer in its own housing that sits in front of the steering wheel. There’s also a battery meter and a charge/assist gauge that monitors the electric portion of the powertrain.
* Air conditioning
* Cruise control
* Tilt/telescoping steering wheel
* Power windows, locks and mirrors
* 10.4 cubic feet of cargo volume (smaller than the regular sedan’s 12.0-cubic-foot trunk)
* Stereo with CD player and USB audio interface that works with iPods and flash drives
* Optional navigation system with voice recognition
* Bluetooth limited to navigation-equipped vehicles
Under the Hood
The Civic Hybrid features a 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine teamed with an electric motor.
* 110 horsepower and 123 pounds-feet of torque
* Continuously variable automatic transmission
* MacPherson strut front suspension and compact multilink double-wishbone rear suspension
Safety
Now standard on all Civic Hybrids is an electronic stability system, which was not previously offered on the hybrid. In the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s frontal-offset and side-impact crash tests, the Civic received the highest overall rating.
* Antilock brakes
* Side-impact airbags for the front seats
* Side curtain airbags
* Active front head restraints

Video: Honda’s are (made) forever...
After seeing this "poor" Honda Civic taking the beat of its lifetime and still continuing to run, do you still have any doubts about Japanese reliability? Unbelievable...

2008 Honda Civic Type-R Promo Video
8,5 minutes after watching this I’m bored to hell and simultaneously utterly annoyed by the atmospheric music that destroyed any interest this video might of had. Why, why Honda did you spend time and money on this?

Tokyo Auto Salon: Mugen Honda Jazz/Fit, Civic & S2000 Concepts

Even though the show lasts for a couple of days only, those
As with the majority of the Tokyo presentations, information concerning the cars is more limited than our knowledge of black holes so once again we’ll have to be consent with any images we’ve got on our hands -for now that is. Undoubtedly Mugen’s most impressive show car is the “Open-Top Sports Concept” or to make its simple a barchetta version of the S2000 with an eye-catching bodykit that we’d just love to take it for a drift –wouldn’t you?

Albeit less impressive, the other two Mugen concepts are the “Road to Racing Concept” which is based on the Civic Sedan featuring a bodykit reminiscent of the 4door Type-R (although that looked much cooler thanks to its polar white colour) & the “Fit Spec-D” which well, is a supped-up Fit (Jazz).

SEMA Show: Honda Civic MUGEN Si Sedan - Sales start in Spring 2007
The track tuned suspension lowers the vehicle by 0.6" (15mm) with highly aggressive spring and damper tuning for enhanced handling performance.
The full bodykit adds a front spoiler and sports grille, side spoilers, a rear diffuser and a rear wing. The lightweight MUGEN forged alloy wheels measure 18x7.5" and are shod with 215/40R18 summer tires.
The sports exhaust system reduces back pressure from the catalytic converter back resulting in an enhanced power curve.
Additional equipment includes front and rear MUGEN emblems along with a serial number placard on the instrument panel. A spherical aluminum shift knob replaces the standard knob.

Honda Civic Hybrid Sports - Paris Show Aftermath
Obviously, not one of the Likewise, the distinctive interior used a stark contrast of black and white as a colour scheme, with bucket seats providing the necessary sport touch. Nothing new underneath though which is pity as the bodykit looked really nice on the Civic. Although this was dubbed as a concept, we could see the aggressive bodykit in a future Civic Type S in
