GENEVA: Skoda Fabia "bi-colour" concept
Well, not much of a concept since Skoda has announced that it’ll offer a white-painted roof for the new Fabia (photos below). Only difference is that this one draws its uniqueness due to the silver painted roof & mirror covers and the pearl-black body color. So, I guess at the Frankfurt show we’ll see a Fabia concept with a white colored roof "dressed" with the British err, sorry I mean the Czech flag? -Continued: Click “Read More…” below to see the press release and more photos

Skoda is going to continue in the more than one hundred years old motor sport tradition (anniversary was celebrated in 2001). The concept car S2000 was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007. It is an attractive demonstration of how the car producer will take up the great tradition again.
The S2000 is a concept car on the basis of the second generation Fabia Hatchback and has been designed to comply with the new FIA Rally Regulations. In accordance with the regulations, the car will have a two-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine.
The study Super 2000 exhibits fundamental benchmark data – 3,992 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,486 mm correspond to the values of the new Fabia. A clear difference to the serial model, however, is the 4WD, the roll cage in the interior and further parts of the car in compliance with the regulations.

Skoda Fabia vRS Special Edition
Answer: You stick a "Special Edition" name-tag, throw in a couple of extras and cross your fingers hoping buyers will go for it...
PRESS RELEASE: Skoda Unleashes Special Edition Fabia vRS
Question: what’s blue and red on the outside, black on the inside and excellent value for money?
Answer: the stunning new Škoda Fabia vRS Special Edition. -Continued: Click “Read More…” below to see the rest of the press release

In addition to this – and the impressive spec already offered on vRS models - the Special Edition also benefits from cruise control, ‘sunset’ glass and a six-disc CD changer. You can even choose the number you want on your seats (001-1,000). However, this is on a first come first served basis.
Prices for the limited run start at £12,990 (standard vRS’ cost £12,375). Not only does this compare favourably to similar models from rival manufacturers, but it also represents outstanding value when you consider that the extra equipment included would otherwise cost over £2,000.
Buyers will still find the highly-acclaimed 1.9 TDI engine with its 130bhp and 310Nm of torque under the bonnet. The plucky powerplant not only dispatches the sprint to 62mph in 9.5 seconds on its way to a 128mph top speed, but is also capable of returning over 64mpg on the extra urban cycle.
Nearly 11,000 Fabia vRS’ have been sold in the
The all-new Fabia hatchback goes on sale in May with the new vRS derivative expected sometime in 2008.

UPDATE: 2008 Skoda Superb Scoop Images
A couple of hours ago we showed you a few scanned black & white images of the 2008 Skoda Superb. Apparently, those pictures where just the tip of the ice-berg as we managed to snoop out a whole set of images that give us a clear view of the Octavia’s big brother. And the from the looks of it, that’s the best description one can give to the 2008 Superb which dumps the 4door sedan body of the current version in favor of a Octavia-like 5door liftback body. Expect the Superb to be fitted with a wide range of 1.6 FSI, TFSI (1.8 or/and 2.0-litres), V6 FSI petrol and 1.9/2.0 TDI diesel engines when it goes on sale in a few months (June). Scooped: 2008 Skoda Superb 2
Like our fellow French bloggers at Caradisiac noted,we’ll be frank and tell you we don’t have the slightest idea of what’s written on the scanned pics of this Czech newspaper –any help from Czech speaking friends will be more than welcome!. What we do know though s that from the looks of it, Skoda has yet another factory leak on its hands, this time of the all-new Skoda Superb, which as we’ve written previously, will go on sale in Europe this June. -Continued: Click “Read More…” below to see the rest of the article and the imagesThe scooped images give us thorough details of the new Superb, which will be based on an extended Octavia platform. Albeit a bit fuzzy, it’s quite obvious that, unlike its predecessor, the new Superb will not be a rebadged VW Passat (previous generation). In order to obtain its own identity in comparison with the Passat the Czech carmaker decided to abandon the 4door sedan body and go the 5door liftback way, just as it has done with the Octavia. It remains unknown for now if the Superb will make its public debut at the Geneva Show. Via: Autoblog.it & Caradisiac

Skoda Roomster Scout - Official
After the premiere of the Octavia Scout in Paris , Skoda is adding a second crossover vehicle to its passenger range, the Roomster Scout. Compared with the basic Roomster the Scout differentiates itself thanks to SUV inspired design elements such as the new bumpers the plastic side covers. As you can guess, no 4wheel drive here as the Roomster Scout is a typical front-wheel drive MPV. In the interior, the dashboard comes in the Onyx/Onyx and Onyx/Silver versions and the seat upholstery material is identical with that in the Octavia Scout. Two four-cylinder petrol engines are available – 1.4 16V/86 Hp and 1.6 16V/105 Hp along with two diesel motors, the three-cylinder 1.4 TDI PD/80 Hp and the four-cylinder 1.9 TDI PD/105 Hp. All engines come equipped with 5speed manual transmissions, the 1.6 16V version is also available with the Tiptronic 6speed automatic. The Roomster Scout will have its world premiere at the

Skoda Roomster Milotec

Czech tuner Milotec which specializes in Skoda cars presented their version of the Roomster MPV. From what we make from Milotec’s Czech speaking only site, the Roomster gets a dozen or so plastic add-ons like the grey colored door-mirror and mask covers, a new radio, a new set of 17’’ alloys but unfortunately, no engine kit.

SCOOP: 2008 Skoda Roomster Scout
These phone camera spy pics reveal that Skoda is working on an crossover edition of its new compact MPV, Roomster. Like the Octavia Scout, the Roomster Scout gets newly designed bumpers at the front and rear, body-colour side mouldings and profiled door sills. Protective strips on the wheel housings, sumpguard protection (front and rear) and the higher ground clearance complete the 4x4 package. But unlike its Octavia counterpart, I highly doubt that the Roomster Scout will get a 4x4 drivetrain.

Czech...this out: Skoda Octavia Scout
Skoda is entering the crossover territory with its new Octavia Scout that will make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September 2006. Nothing special, as differences between the stock Octavia Station Wagon and the Scout basically sum up to the slightly upraised ground clearance and a few plastic add-ons. If your still intrested and willing to pay a "few" euros more, market introduction for the Scout, is planned for the first quarter of 2007.
Press Release: The Octavia Scout radiates a feeling of both power and dynamics. Robust and authentic, it is representative of the brand's competence in four-wheel drive and represents a further step in the still-young life cycle of the Octavia.
Its ground clearance is 40 millimetres higher than that of the Octavia Combi and 16 mm greater than that of the Octavia Combi 4x4, thus increasing its off-road ability considerably, enabling it to master poor and rutted tracks effortlessly.
The reliable four-wheel drive estate car, with its boot volume of up to 1620 litres, can cope with even the most demanding transport tasks and is ideally suited for hard daily use or as a partner for leisure and vacation.
The Octavia Scout, at 4581 millimetres in length, is one centimetre longer, 1.5 centimetres wider and 1.3 centimetres higher than the Octavia 4x4. Newly designed bumpers at the front and rear, body-colour side mouldings and profiled door sills lend the Scout its design and are also an indication of its possible uses. Protective strips on the wheel housings, front door sills with "Scout" engraved on them and sumpguard protection front and rear equip the car for difficult tasks. The 17" Proteus alloy wheels cope with even the worst roads and provide reliability in the flight from the humdrum of the day. The Octavia Scout is also distinguished by its exclusive logo and polished steel dual exhaust pipes.
In the interior, the driver and passengers enjoy outstanding comfort. Under the comfortable front central armrest is the Jumbo box, a spacious storage compartment, something which normally is offered only in higher level models. Upholstery that is exclusive to the Octavia Scout, and a front passenger handgrip on the dashboard are further characteristics of the new model.
The Skoda Octavia Scout is supplied with the most powerful diesel and petrol engines - the 2.0 TDI PD diesel engine with 103 kW (140 HP) and the 2.0 FSI petrol engine with 110 kW (150 HP), both of which are four cylinder engines. The diesel is fitted with a diesel particle filter (DPF) as standard. Both engines are combined with a 6speed manual transmission.
To provide its off-road capability, the Octavia Scout is fitted with the well-proven four-wheel drive system from Skoda Auto. The core of the drive train is the Haldex multi-plate clutch installed in front of the rear axle.

Skoda Roomster MPV
VOILÀ! This is Skoda’s proposition in the popular compact MPV category. Although the Roomster production model holds the same name as the concept unveiled in 2003, its styling is less attractive and adventurous, and reminding us the Mercedes A-Class based Viano. Among others, the production model has lost the Saab style roof line and gained one more door on the driver’s side compared to the Roomster Concept as you can see in the pictures above.
The model range will include among others, 1,4, 1,6 and 2,0 litre MPI & FSI engines. According to sources in the VW Group, the Roomster will give birth to a crossover model based once again on a concept, the Yeti previewed in 2005.
Škoda Auto presents the first official picture of the new Škoda Roomster that is going to become the fourth model family. Not only does the Škoda Roomster represent the Škoda brand’s step towards a new market segment, but also a step towards a new development stage.
The Roomster made its first appearance as a design study at the International Motor Show (IAA – Internationale Automobil-Ausstellung) in
The Roomster car concept is unique with its variable interior and a young, fresh design. As usual, the Škoda Roomster impresses with an excellent value for money, a vast luggage compartment, a lot of storage space, and a flexible Varioflex rear seat facility.
The side lines reflect dynamics while large glass panes underline ample interior spaciousness. The customers can choose their ideal option out of three petrol engines and three diesel engines combined with a manual or automatic gearbox.
