New Lancia Delta HPE Concept pictures: Official or Photoshop?

The past few days I've seen a couple of hypothetically official, sketches of Lancia's Delta HPE Concept that'll be unveiled at the Paris International Motor Show this month. The later seem to have originated from an Italian site called "Autoinsight" (the last pair of photos).

Now, we've got another two "official" sketches of the Delta HPE Concept running around loose on the net (above photos). Besides having some differences in terms of front and rear end design, the two "official" sketches are very alike.

I'm not sure if either ones are official sketches or not -although both could very well be early stage designs, but if I had to pick one that I liked the most, I think I'd i preffer the first ones. I must add though that in my opinion, the rear end design in both sketches is a very big "no-no"...

Smart offers us a…sandy preview of its 2007 Smart Fortwo

Without doubt, Smart has done alot of things wrong all of these years but no one can blame them for not being creative as this sand made 2007 Fortwo clearly shows. Through this cute "gimmick", Smart offers us a first, undisguised glimpse of its successor to the current smart fortwo. The hand made Fortwo has the signature of Pavel Zasanyok, a three-time sand sculpture world champion from Russia and it was previewed during the German beach volleyball championships in Timmendorf this weekend.

As for the real life 2007 Fortwo that will be available for the first time in the US, according to Smart, it will be unveiled this autumn (99% at the Paris International Motor Show) with sales commencing worldwide from next spring.

2006 Paris Show : Hyundai to present its 2007 VW Golf contender in the form of the FD Concept

Following the steps of its subsidiary KIA, who previewed a few months ago the Cee'd Concept, Hyundai Europe is going to present a near to production version concept car at this years Paris International Motor Show.

Dubbed FD, Hyundai's concept is based on the all-new, European developed, designed and manufactured, Kia Cee'd. It's goal is to give us a preview of Hyundai's upcoming C-Segment competitor which will go on sale in Europe next summer (2007).

Like its Kia counterpart the Ceed, the FD is considered a Top Priority in Hyundai Group's European strategy as both models will compete in Europe's best selling category, the C-Segment. Of course that's better said than done, as the Korean's will have to go against European heavyweights like the Volkswagen Golf, Opel Astra, and Renault Megane.

2007 Fiat Panda 1.4 16V Sport for Sale on the Net

Despite the fact that Fiat's long awaited sport version of it's highly successful Panda hasn't been officially announced yet, the sporty Italian hatch seems to be for sale on a German site called "Mobile"!

The buyer is asking 12.900 euros or about 16.500 USD (!) for a brand the new Panda Sport which wears a 101 Hp 1.4 16V engine. If you think that's alot, take in mind that according to the seller, the sporty Italian mini hatch's normal price is 14.200 euros or to make that in USD, 18.200. What a bargain…

"La Paris" Exclusive: Citroen C-Metisse Hybrid-Diesel Concept

An International Motor Show in Paris without a futuristic concept from Citroen is like having a romantic dinner for two without a bottle of Chardonnay. Beside it's all new medium sized MPV C4 Picasso Citroen will also present at the Paris Show the C-Metisse Concept: a stunning GT with 4 gullwing type doors that looks like it came straight back from the future.

But this futuristic sport GT isn't just about style as Citroen has given it a hybrid powertrain that consists of PSA Group's 205 Hp 3.0 V6 HDi diesel engine and two electric motors. This is not the first time that Citroen has been playing around with diesel-hybrids as a few months ago the French carmaker unveiled the C4 Hybrid HDi.
